23 января 2022 г. исполнилось 115 лет со дня рождения выдающегося ученого Валентина Алексеевича Каргина. Каргин Валентин Алексеевич: академик АН СССР (1953), Герой Социалистического Труда, лауреат Ленинской и четырех Государственных премий, награжден тремя орденами Ленина, двумя Трудового Красного Знамени многими медалями, дважды премия имени А.Н. Баха, один из основоположников науки о полимерах, координатор развития химической индустрии в стране 50-60-е годы прошлого века, создатель научной школы по физикохимии полимеров России, организатор главный редактор журнала «Высокомолекулярные соединения». Его учениками являются академики РАН В.А. Кабанов, Н.А. Платэ, Н.Ф. Бакеев, чл.-корр. В.П. Шибаев, А.Б. Зезин, А.Л. Волынский многие другие.
